The Little Seal that Means a Lot

July 17, 2017

You may have noticed the small unassuming seal tucked away in the corner of all Community Foundation of Broward publications. Even though it's small, it represents a lot. The seal confirms our compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations®. Compliance means we adhere to the highest standards of operational excellence and integrity in community philanthropy.

This year, the Community Foundation again earned the right to display this credential after a rigorous reaccreditation process. Accreditation documents the legal, ethical and effective operational practices we have in place to maintain transparency and financial responsibility.

The milestone continues a tradition that began in 2000 when these National Standards were created and we became one of the nation's first community foundations to achieve compliance.
