Five Community Foundation of Broward videos, which tell the stories of our Fundholders’ bold community impact, are among the winners of the 2019 Videographer Awards.
Our award-winning videos feature examples of how our Fundholders tackle the Issues That Matter – challenges that affect us all and are vital to Broward’s future.
Top honors went to “From Isolation to Inspiration” – which shows how our Fundholders combat elderly depression with their support for the Dignity in Aging issue. This Award of Excellence goes to just 12 percent of the 1,500 entries.
In addition, two of our videos won the Award of Distinction, the second highest honor, which goes to only 15 percent of entries. Those videos included:
- “Undersea Tunnel Transformation” – which shows how a mural featuring sharks, sea turtles and other creatures of the sea turned a drab beach-access tunnel into a tourist destination, thanks to support for Art of Community.
- “BE BOLD Leadership Campaign Launch” – which features our Fundholders talking about why they support our most ambitious effort yet to ensure Broward has permanent, philanthropic resources to face the challenges of a growing community.
Also, Honorable Mention recognition went to:
- “A Second Chance. A Brighter Future” – about how jobs coaches help people on the verge of homelessness get back to work after overcoming addiction, thanks to Fundholders’ commitment to the issue of Economic Independence.
- “Saving Scarlett” – about how Fundholders' support for the Animal Welfare issue pays for medical procedures that save hundreds of pets’ lives and keep them with the people who love them.
This international competition, judged by the Association of Marking and Communication Professionals, honors video production that “exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.”
The Videographer Awards began in 1995. This year it showcased the work of thousands of video production and communications professionals from across the United States and 12 other countries.
Producing compelling, high-quality videos is an example of how the Community Foundation works to inform, empower and connect our Fundholders. The videos also show how we provide bold leadership on community solutions.
