Spirit Airlines prioritizes giving back to the place they call home.

So, when the Miramar-based airline wanted to find the best ways to support Broward’s environment, Spirit naturally turned to Broward’s local philanthropy experts to help make it happen.

In August, Spirit donated $50,000 to the Community Foundation of Broward to support efforts to protect and restore Broward’s fragile environment.

As Spirit’s philanthropy partner, the Community Foundation in the months ahead will identify innovative opportunities for Spirit’s generous gift to make the most impact for Broward’s environment.

“Spirit Airlines’ dedication to giving back to the community makes it a wonderful corporate citizen that Broward is lucky to have,” Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., said. “We are thrilled to be their philanthropy partner and to find opportunities for their generous donation to make a bold impact for Broward’s environment.”

Like Spirit, the Community Foundation prioritizes investing in Broward’s environment, through philanthropy we call ECO Broward.

We know that protecting Broward’s environment creates a more vibrant and resilient place to live, for generations to come. Thanks to our Fundholders’ support for ECO Broward, Community Foundation grants are restoring beach dunes, cleaning up waterways, planting trees, studying climate change implications, protecting wildlife habitat and much, much more.

This exciting new collaboration with Spirit will fuel more environmental solutions that help Broward remain a beautiful and resilient place to call home.
