The Community Foundation of Broward was excited to host new Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Cartwright on May 11 for a roundtable discussion about local schools.
This breakfast get-together included the Community Foundation team as well as representatives from local agencies, nonprofit partners and a few others in an eye-opening conversation about some of the biggest challenges facing local schools.
College and career preparedness, the importance of mental health support for students and teachers, and student homelessness were among the topics covered during our breakfast gathering at the Community Foundation’s office.
Having the chance to hear firsthand from the new superintendent and foster important education discussions among local leaders is another example of the Community Foundation’s deep commitment to supporting education and youth enrichment in Broward.
Thank you, Dr. Cartwright for sharing your time and insights with us!
