New Community Builders: Dara and Jarett Levan

Love, Empathy and Life-changing Impact for Broward.

September 22, 2023
Dara and Jarett Levan are new Community Builders for the Community Foundation of Broward.

Dara and Jarett Levan’s leadership and generosity fosters love, empathy and life-changing impact for the community they call home.

Dara, a Community Foundation of Broward Board member, and Jarett, a former Board member, commit their time and philanthropic support to helping people in need and shaping a more vibrant Broward.

In 2018, their visionary spirit led them to partner with the Community Foundation to establish the endowed Dara and Jarett Levan Fund for the Arts, which serves as an enduring source of support to help the arts flourish in Broward. Dara and Jarett believe the arts are the lifeblood of the community, providing inspiration, connection, economic benefits and better quality of life. Their endowment ensures that creativity and cultural expression in Broward will thrive forever.

Now Dara and Jarett have taken their philanthropy to new heights with the creation of the endowed Dara and Jarett Levan Fund for Mental Health and Well-Being. Propelled by a desire to tackle a growing community challenge, their new fund creates sustainable support for counseling and other opportunities to help people in our community improve their mental health and well-being.

With their two endowed funds, Dara and Jarett have become Community Builders – joining a visionary group of philanthropists who partner with the Community Foundation to create endowed funds of $1 million or more to shape a brighter future for Broward. This dedicated group includes BBX Capital, where Jarett is President and CEO, which in 2019 became the Community Foundation’s first corporate Community Builder.

Dara and Jarett have truly embraced a legacy of generosity that transforms lives today and – through the power of endowment – will be there in perpetuity to ensure a brighter future for the community they love. Beyond their financial contributions lies the true essence of Dara and Jarett’s impact—their ability to inspire and ignite the passion for giving in the hearts of countless others. And by teaching their children the value of giving back, Dara and Jarett are sowing seeds of compassion and leadership that will guide their family’s philanthropy for generations.

Together with the Community Foundation, Dara and Jarett’s legacy of enduring philanthropy will transform and uplift Broward, forever.

“We are excited to expand our efforts to address the mental health challenges our community faces and to build a brighter future for Broward County through the arts.” –  Dara Levan
