New Community Builders: Albert and Beatriz Miniaci

Opening Doors To Brighter Futures

May 1, 2023
Albert and Beatriz Miniaci are new Community Builders for the Community Foundation of Broward.

Albert and Beatriz Miniaci share a passion for giving back and getting involved to support the community they love.

Albert, originally from New York, and Beatriz, from Chile, made their life together in Broward, where they raised their children, Alan and Maria. As Albert’s entrepreneurial success grew – from real estate to vending machines and more – he and Beatriz prioritized local philanthropy that empowers others to achieve their full potential. They have long focused their support on smaller organizations that work with underserved populations and people with disabilities. Albert championed this work during his time as a Community Foundation of Broward Board Member.

Many nonprofit organizations have benefited from Albert and Beatriz volunteering their leadership and philanthropic support, including:

  • Arc Broward
  • Broward Center for the Performing Arts
  • Hispanic Unity of Florida
  • HANDY
  • Slow Burn Theatre Company
  • Catholic and Jewish Hospice
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County
  • FLITE Center
  • Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School – Queens, NY
  • Ann Stork Center
  • Goodman Jewish Family Services of Broward County
  • Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
  • Junior Achievement of South Florida
  • Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center
  • Broward Health
  • Nova Southeastern University, where Albert serves on the Board of Trustees

Now, Albert and Beatriz are using the power of endowment to ensure their local impact never ends. The new, endowed Albert and Beatriz Miniaci Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward locks in sustainable, permanent support for nonprofits and causes that matter to them.

With their new endowed fund, Albert and Beatriz are carrying on a family tradition of local philanthropy and becoming the Community Foundation’s first second-generation Community Builders. Albert’s mother, Rose, became a Community Builder in 2006 when she created the endowed Rose Miniaci Family Fund at the Community Foundation.

Like Rose, Albert and Beatriz’s commitment to endowed giving ensures that their support will always be there to make life better in Broward.

“We hope creating our endowed fund inspires others to join in and help our community achieve its full potential. By being public with our philanthropy, we try to draw attention to the innovative programs and dedicated nonprofits that are helping people in need.” – Beatriz Miniaci
