Celebrating the Power of Estate Gifts

2026 Legacy Society Luncheon

March 2, 2026
Community Foundation of Broward President/CEO Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson and Board Chair Jonathan Allen lead the festivities at the "Champions of Broward"-themed 2026 Legacy Society Luncheon.

Incorporating charitable giving into your estate plan is a powerful way to establish a legacy that transforms lives and uplifts our community. By making a bequest to the Community Foundation in your will, you launch an endowed fund that ensures your charitable impact continues for generations to come.

Visionaries who make estate gift commitments to the Community Foundation join our “Legacy Society.” Membership in the Legacy Society is one of the ways we say “thank you” today to philanthropists whose future gifts will shape a brighter future for the community they love.

On Feb. 25 we welcomed nearly 200 supporters to our annual Legacy Society Luncheon, held this year at War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale. For our “Champions of Broward”-themed celebration, we teamed up with the reigning NHL Champion Florida Panthers to showcase the impact of local philanthropy and honor the power of estate gifts.

Our guests learned that the Legacy Society’s combined future gifts will deliver more than $488 million to strengthen our community for generations. Arc Broward and the Humane Society – two organizations long supported by the Community Foundation and now getting support from Panthers players – shared how local philanthropy helps children with disabilities and finds new homes for shelter animals. Attendees also met former Panther players, tried on championship rings and posed for photos with the Florida Panthers Dance Team and mascots.

“Championship teams don’t measure success by a single game. They build with intention and plan for what comes next,” Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson said. “That's a lesson we learned from our own Florida Panthers team. And that’s exactly what Legacy Society members are doing with their gift commitments to the Community Foundation – thoughtful decisions today that will shape Broward County for generations.”

Thank you, Legacy Society members, for partnering with us to ensure your legacy of community support goes on forever!
