Robert Taylor and Robin Taylor Fleming are dedicated to carrying on the charitable mission of their mother, Sherry Taylor, who helped launch Sheridan House Family Ministries.
Robert and Robin treasure their memories of family life in Hollywood, FL, spending holidays at the family farm back in Georgia, quality time fishing and hunting in the Everglades and rural Central Florida, and at confectionary industry events with their parents, Sherry and Bob Taylor.

Sherry and Bob left corporate life in 1969 to launch a business from their home in Hollywood, which would eventually grow from a three-man shop to become one of the nation’s largest and most respected specialty consumer product sales agencies, Burdette Beckmann, Inc. (“BBI”). Sherry served as controller from the start until her retirement, and at the same time, served in several leadership positions at their church, including her involvement with the founding of Sheridan House Ministries in Hollywood, the purchase of its current campus in Davie, and its evolution into a stand-alone, unaffiliated, faith-based ministry.
Robert joined BBI full-time directly after college and worked his way up to CEO, spearheading special markets innovation, disrupting longstanding geographic territorial boundaries and creating new benchmarking for the confectionary industry. He is justly proud that his two daughters and a son-in-law have followed in his footsteps. Robin worked as a part-time jobber for BBI in the early days, and then pursued a career in law. As an office managing partner for several national law firms, she has a special affinity for middle-market organizations and their leaders; Robin pioneered a best practices advisory program for them which is underwritten by specialty insurers.
In addition to teaching and modeling for their children the value of hard work, Sherry and Bob instilled a commitment to helping others directly and through organizations with which their values and faith aligned. Sherry taught Sunday school, served as Chair of their church’s school board, and taught financial literacy classes for church members. She was generous to friends, relatives and neighbors alike, both directly and through planned giving.
For more than 50 years, Sheridan House has been helping children, single mothers and families in need with counseling, residential care, aid, and other critical services so that they can overcome obstacles and improve their lives. Sherry was instrumental at every step along the way as it has grown.
Now, Robert and Robin have partnered with the Community Foundation of Broward to create the endowed Sherry Taylor Family Fund, which honors their mother’s memory and establishes permanent support for Sheridan House. Through the Community Foundation’s careful investment and stewardship, the grantmaking impact of Robert and Robin’s gift will continue to grow for generations to come. Year after year, grants from Sherry’s fund at the Community Foundation will support the many ways Sheridan House helps people in need.
Thank you, Robert and Robin, for entrusting the Community Foundation to ensure that Sherry’s legacy of support for Sheridan House will never end.
“Our mother believed in the power of Sheridan House to transform lives through its multifaceted, faith-based ministry that helps thousands of people each year. We are so pleased to honor her memory with an endowed fund that will support the work of Sheridan House forever.” – Robert Taylor and Robin Taylor Fleming.
