‘Girl Scouts Lead the Way’ Award Honors Community Foundation of Broward’s Leader

Talk about a badge of honor.

Community Foundation of Broward President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., was one of five inspirational women of Broward County honored at the Fifth Annual Girl Scouts Lead the Way Luncheon on Sept. 14.

Jennifer’s fellow honorees included:

  • Heather Geronemus, Director of Corporate Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility, UKG
  • Laurie Jennings, President, Laurie Jennings Live
  • Jessica Marra, Attorney, Kelley Kronenberg
  • Kim Saiswick, EdD, RN, LMHC, Vice President of Community Health & Well-Being, Holy Cross Health

During the awards luncheon, the honorees participated in a panel discussion about their leadership and commitment to the community. They also shared insights on business and current issues facing Broward. In addition, local Girl Scouts talked about how they have benefited from the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida serves more than 5,000 girls in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties.

Beyond the cookie sales and camp outs, the Girl Scouts is a top leadership development organization for girls ages 5 to 17, teaching them to command their future, engage their communities and inspire others.

“The Girl Scouts do so much to empower and educate the next generation of female leaders. I’m honored to be recognized by this iconic organization that is near and dear to my heart,” Jennifer said. “And congratulations to my fellow honorees whose accomplishments and impact on our community are an inspiration to us all.”
