Community Foundation Maintains ‘Platinum’ Rating

January 29, 2026

The Community Foundation of Broward reinforced our commitment to excellence by achieving the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency rating on Candid’s GuideStar.

Candid is a nonprofit that provides social sector data, tools and other resources for nonprofits nationwide. Donors and other funders can use Candid’s GuideStar to verify and research nonprofits that are aligned with their priorities.

By maintaining Candid’s top level of recognition each year, the Community Foundation continues to set an example of transparency and accountability we hope all of Broward’s nonprofits will follow.

“Building trust is essential to the partnerships we forge with philanthropists, nonprofits and professional advisors to shape a brighter future for the community we love,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D. “Year after year, we maintain our Platinum Seal of Transparency to reinforce our commitment to accountability and excellence.”

In 2025, the Community Foundation began to require that nonprofit organizations to achieve a Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid to be eligible to receive Community Foundation grants. Undergoing Candid’s review of financial information, organizational strategies and results helps nonprofits build trust with donors and other funders, like the Community Foundation.

Leading By Example

The Community Foundation’s Platinum rating from Candid is another example of how the Foundation prioritizes setting high standards and incorporating best practices to show we are an impactful, trustworthy champion for local philanthropy. More than two decades ago, we became the first community foundation in Florida to earn accreditation by the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. By going through the rigorous steps to maintain our accreditation, we continue our commitment to accountability and excellence as a national leader in philanthropy.
