Fins up! The Community Foundation of Broward is honored to be a 2026 inductee to the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) “Shark Circle.”
The Community Foundation was among the supporters recognized at NSU’s “Evening of Excellence” celebration, held at the NSU Davie/Fort Lauderdale Campus on Feb. 7.
The Shark Circle honors those who have reached or exceeded $1 million of cumulative giving to NSU. The event also honored NSU’s Fellows Society donors, who have reached a cumulative level of giving of $100,000 or more.
We are excited to share that Shark Circle honorees included Wayne and Lucretia Weiner, who are Community Foundation fundholders. In addition, the Fellows Society honorees included Trevor A. Fried, a Community Foundation Board member and one of our “Community Builders,” who have created endowed charitable funds of $1 million or more at the Foundation. Also, the Cathy and James Donnelly Charitable Fund at the Community Foundation was one of the Leader Sponsors of the event.
Community Foundation Board Chair and Fundholder Jonathan Allen represented the Foundation at NSU’s Evening of Excellence celebration, which also helped raise support for “NSU’s strategic initiatives that foster academic excellence, leadership, integrity, scientific, economic and community contributions.”
The Community Foundation’s support for NSU is made possible by the local philanthropists who partner with us to champion access to higher education, career preparedness, the arts and the many other ways the university makes life better in Broward.
Congratulations to all the NSU Evening of Excellence honorees!
