Fort Lauderdale’s 17th Street Causeway Bridge will become an illuminating artistic attraction thanks to a lighting display made possible by the power of local philanthropy.

The $6 million “Everyone Under the Stars” project, to be completed by 2027, will bath the gateway to Fort Lauderdale Beach in a colorful combination of lights – creating an awe-inspiring complement to the new Broward Convention Center and Hotel and re-imagined Pier Sixty-Six.

The Broward County Commission committed $2 million to the bridge lighting. Fundraising will support the remaining costs of this inspired artistic endeavor. The Community Foundation of Broward is joining the collaboration by safeguarding and managing the support raised for this exciting transformation of a key community artery.

The bridge lighting project is being designed by artist Tracey Dear, long known for his work in the music industry who is now bringing his talents to architectural illumination.
