‘Art of Community’ Brings Waves Of Color To Downtown Fort Lauderdale

August 25, 2020
A new downtown Fort Lauderdale art project includes 80,000 ribbons tied in a wavy mural that transformed a fence along the Brightline train line.

80,000 colorful ribbons recently transformed a stark chain-link fence into a beautiful work of art, right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The bright, kinetic mural stretches more than 500 feet between the Brightline train station and the downtown bus terminal. Waves of fluttering ribbons now deliver a vibrant welcome to commuters and pedestrians passing along Broward Boulevard.

Fundholders at the Community Foundation of Broward made this fence transformation possible. Their support for Art of Community is one of the ways philanthropy through the Community Foundation ignites creativity, stokes community pride and builds a more vibrant Broward.
