The Community Foundation annually awards more than $100,000 in scholarships.
Applications are available from late January to late March. The eligibility criteria for each scholarship are listed within the application form. All scholarships are for colleges, universities, or vocational schools. Individual awards vary from a one-time award to multiple year awards. Scholarship awards may be used for tuition, books, fees and/or room and board. These awards are charitable grants that are not required to be paid back. Students may apply for more than one scholarship.
The Community Foundation considers the total cost of education, the expected student/family contribution, and other grants and loans awarded to the student. Recipients are selected on an objective and competitive basis considering academic and non-academic factors.
Awards
Scholarship recipients are notified by August 15.
Payments will be sent directly to the recipient's school. In subsequent years, eligibility for continuing awards will be determined when a satisfactory transcript of the previous grading period and verification of full-time enrollment has been submitted to the Community Foundation.
Applications
2008 Application cycle is closed. Applications will be available again in late January 2009.
