Capacity Building

The ability to make a difference is largely influenced by capacity. Capacity is generally defined as the ability to perform or produce.  At the Community Foundation, we look at capacity as a whole – the combination of a number of factors – the sum of parts. The amount and level of capacity present determines the future and the ability to create change.

The Community Foundation of Broward has committed to capacity building for more than 24 years. We see first-hand how grant dollars go farther and nonprofits become stronger as a result of our work in this area. We have seen individuals become thoughtful philanthropists and Broward become a more vibrant community. This is our core reason for being.
