The Community Foundation of Broward is offering more than $100,000 in scholarships to give deserving students the help they need to lead boldly. The following applications are now open:  

Tripp Family Fund for Educational Opportunity Scholarship
Broward attorney Norman Tripp and his family established this scholarship to help women in transition achieve their educational goals. This full scholarship is for current Broward College Students who will begin attending Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for the 2016-2017 school year with the intent of completing a bachelor's degree (2+2 degree program). It can be applied to tuition, books and fees.

Application Opens: Friday, December 9, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Mary Houliston MacDonald Scholarship for Women
This scholarship was established by Mary Houliston MacDonald. Mary wanted to make it possible for women who are divorced, widowed or abandoned by their husbands to obtain the education or training opportunities necessary to be independent.

Ralph H. and Ruth Frank Gross Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship Fund was established in memory of Ralph and Ruth Frank Gross to honor their belief in the importance of a good education. This scholarship Fund was established in memory of them and is intended to encourage people to improve themselves as well as to provide for the betterment of their children.  It seeks to help often unheralded government employees and their families to improve their lives through education.

Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic Scholarship
Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic is proud to provide scholarships that reflect the organization's belief in the development of character through service and high academic achievement. The scholarship offers educational support for those with strong academic track records and a desire to help others. They stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contacts and deep friendships of individual Fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human services, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is a tenet by which we strive to live.

Foundation Scholarships
Administered by Broward Education Foundation
 
In addition, we partner with the Broward Education Foundation to administer a number of scholarships. View their application and criteria.  These opportunities include the following scholarships listed below and within the application.

Gertrude Gray Memorial Scholarship - Sponsored by: Community Foundation of Broward.  Area of study: N/A  Requirement(s): Established unmet financial need through submitted required documentation.  Additional Requirements:  US Citizen, served a minimum of 100 hours of community service, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

Dr. Stanley & Pearl Goodman Scholarship - US Citizen, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college, major in a medical profession.

Henry Latimer Memorial Scholarship - US Citizen, Graduate from Dillard High School preferred.

Nancy J. MacDonald Scholarship - US Citizen, physically or mentally challenged, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain 3.0 each semester of college.  Physician's note required for consideration.

Lawrence A. Sanders Scholarship - Plan on pursuing a career in creative writing or Journalism, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

Walter & Marie Habeck Scholarship - US Citizen, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

Cathy & Richard Donnellan Family Fund Scholarship- minimum 3.0 high school GPA, Applicants who are ineligible for Bright Futures or other scholarships, College preference University of Florida.

Sheriff Ron Cochran Scholarship - Minimum of 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

Ola & Runette Williams Scholarship - Graduate from Northeast High School, Plan to major in Math, Science or career in Guidance.

Hilda and Theodor Sokolowski Scholarship - Outstanding graduating high school seniors, outstanding college entrance scores and/or excellent academic achievement.  Proof of academic excellence or college entrance academic achievement required for consideration.

Steven C. Camp Memorial Scholarship - Preferred college University of Pennsylvania, must show personal leadership qualities (extracurricular school and community activities).  Proof of leadership required.  Provide summary information in a short essay below.

Boyle Family Scholarship - Live in a single parent household.  Must write essay to show evidence of how obstacles and personal barriers have been overcome.

The Vicino Family Charitable Fund - Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, graduate from Cooper City HS, Majoring in Business or Accounting or graduate Fort Lauderdale High School pursuing math, engineering, computer related field.
