Community Foundation of Broward Scholarships


The Community Foundation annually awards more than $100,000 in scholarships.  The following scholarships now have applications available. 

Mary Houliston MacDonald Scholarship for Women

This scholarship was established by Mary Houliston MacDonald. She very much wanted to make it possible for women to be able to have the means to receive or complete their education or training in order to be independent. View application

Ralph H. and Ruth Frank Gross Memorial Scholarship

Ralph and Ruth Frank Gross understood the value of a good education.  This scholarship Fund was established in memory of them and is intended to encourage people to improve themselves as well as to provide for the betterment of their children.  Governmental workers and their families were selected as qualified recipients because of the many good deeds that are performed that go unrecognized. View application.  

Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic Scholarship

The Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic is proud and enthusiastic about their scholarships.  They stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contacts and deep friendships of individual Fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human services, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is a tenet by which we strive to live. View application.

In addition, we partner with the Broward Education Foundation to administer a number of scholarships.  Their application and criteria can be found here. These opportunities include the following scholarships listed below and within the application.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Gertrude Gray Memorial Scholarship - Sponsored by: Community Foundation of Broward.  Area of study: N/A  Requirement(s): Established unmet financial need through submitted required documentation.  Additional Requirements:  US Citizen, served a minimum of 100 hours of community service, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Dr. Stanley & Pearl Goodman Scholarship - US Citizen, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college, major in a medical profession.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Henry Latimer Memorial Scholarship - US Citizen, Graduate from Dillard High School preferred.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Nancy J. MacDonald Scholarship - US Citizen, physically or mentally challenged, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain 3.0 each semester of college.  Physician's note required for consideration.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Lawrence A. Sanders Scholarship - Plan on pursuing a career in creative writing or Journalism, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Walter & Marie Habeck Scholarship - US Citizen, minimum 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Cathy & Richard Donnellan Family Fund Scholarship- minimum 3.0 high school GPA, Applicants who are ineligible for Bright Futures or other scholarships, College preference University of Florida.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Sheriff Ron Cochran Scholarship - Minimum of 3.0 high school GPA and maintain at least 3.0 each semester of college.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Ola & Runette Williams Scholarship - Graduate from Northeast High School, Plan to major in Math, Science or career in Guidance.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Hilda and Theodor Sokolowski Scholarship - Outstanding graduating high school seniors, outstanding college entrance scores and/or excellent academic achievement.  Proof of academic excellence or college entrance academic achievement required for consideration.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Steven C. Camp Memorial Scholarship - Preferred college University of Pennsylvania, must show personal leadership qualities (extracurricular school and community activities).  Proof of leadership required.  Provide summary information in a short essay below.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD -Boyle Family Scholarship - Live in a single parent household.  Must write essay to show evidence of how obstacles and personal barriers have been overcome.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD - The Vicino Family Charitable Fund - Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, graduate from Cooper City HS, Majoring in Business or Accounting or graduate Fort Lauderdale High School pursuing math, engineering, computer related field.
