Resources for Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Broward is one of the largest grantmakers in Broward County. Since 1984, we have awarded more than $45 million in grants to nonprofit organizations that support innovative solutions.

We make grants that cover a wide range of causes including:

Leadership Institute

• Online Library - nonrprofits A-Z, a  comprehensive online library that contains hundreds of resource documents on everything from how to start a nonprofit, how to file your IRS Form 990 and key things to include in a marketing plan.
• Leadership Excellence Series - a wide variety of practical, effective, and engaging seminars on important leadership issues. A focus is on topics such as board development, executive leadership, and strategic planning to name a few. You can see and register for upcoming seminars here.
• Publications - a periodic communique that features the latest news and information on trends in leadership and governance in the sector. Highlights of upcoming seminars and grant opportunities from the Foundation and other grantmakers. The current issue and previous issues are available online, or contact us to request a paper copy.
• Technical Assistance - informal phone consultations and one-on-one meetings with Foundation staff are welcomed. If you have questions, need referrals to community resources, grant opportunities, reference materials, templates and/or sample documents, call us at 954-761-9503.
