Volunteering Survives, Thrives in South Florida |

The state of volunteerism in South Florida has suffered several hits in the last year.
A federal report by the Corporation for National & Community Service ranked Miami last out of 51 major cities for the percentage of residents who volunteer. In June, Miami suffered another blow when the long-running Hands On Miami folded after struggling with a $200,000 shortfall.
