2013 For Good Awards
The For Good Awards recognize those who have found their passion, redefined retirement and changed the world.The awards are part of the Community Foundation’s “Re-engage for Good” initiative which helps new retirees to use their skills and interests to make a difference in our community.

Arnold Abbott, the 2013 For Good Awards Winner and Linda Carter, President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward
Arnold Abbott, was honored on February 14, 2013 in front of more than 600 guests at the Signature Grand for his three decades of leadership in helping homeless Broward residents break the cycle of poverty. The retired founder of the Love thy Neighbor Fund received $30,000 to give to the nonprofit of his choice in recognition of his work to improve Broward in his retirement.
Besides Arnold Abbott, two other For Good Awards finalists, Elaine Appel and Ray Wolowicz were honored today for their work in an “encore career,” receiving $10,000 each to give to the charity of their choice. Read more...
