Victoria's Award




Broward Regional Health Planning Council in partnership with the Community Foundation of Broward recognizes one young person whose work to stop HIV/AIDS have inspired action through their efforts, leadership and passion. 
 
The award is named after Victoria Ward, a young Broward girl, who being born in the late 1980s, was part of the last generation in America to whom the drugs to prevent infection from HIV positive mothers were unavailable. You may read her story here.

Much has been accomplished in the fight against HIV/AIDS since Victoria’s HIV infection and yet this epidemic still stalks our community.
