Broward Pride

Broward Pride

Broward is ranked in the nation's top ten Community Foundations investing in LGBTQ issues.

ISSUE
Broward County has the most same-sex households in Florida and continues to be a leader in civil rights advocacy for the LGBTQ community. Despite this, the LGBTQ community continues to experience significant health and economic disparities.

WHY IT MATTERS
A vibrant, inclusive and tolerant community is only possible when all residents have access to the same resources and opportunities for success and wellness.

OUR GOAL
Support LGBTQ issues in the areas of civil rights, tolerance, the arts and health and economic disparities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Projects we will support must demonstrate impact in one or more of the following areas:
  • Increase opportunities for LGBTQ civil rights advocacy and education to create a more informed, tolerant and engaged community

  • Transform community and school environments in ways to promote and encourage acceptance and inclusion of LGBTQ residents

  • Increase production of and access to quality arts programming exploring LGBTQ issues
  • Combat mental and physical health disparities within LGBTQ populations
