Haiti 3 Months Later
The Community Foundation of Broward serves on the Broward Haiti Relief Task Force that was established just days after the disaster – playing a key role with victim services. To date group members have made more than 55 trips to Haiti. Medical care, water, food and supplies have all been delivered.
The Task Force is working every day to assist the Haitian people who have arrived in Broward – some 3,000 of them so far with such important items as:
- building a cadre of Creole speakers who provide translation services.
- holding Temporary Protected Status (TPS) clinics. They continue to share information with the Haitian community about fraudulent TPS providers.
- providing counseling and services for Broward residents grieving for loved ones who perished or have not been located.
