The Community Foundation of Broward gathered generous philanthropists for a private, after hours visit to the Museum of Discovery and Science on December 7, 2010. The event celebrated those who have invested $100,000 or more with the Community Foundation in support of philanthropic endeavors throughout the community.
Guests enjoyed an exclusive wine and hors d'oeuvres reception and tour of one of the community's most popular and important attractions. The evening was sponsored by US Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management.
The event included a private viewing of Clyde Butcher's photo exhibit, Wilderness Visions of America. Guests also tested their skills and strength at Broward Health's Powerful You! arm wrestling exhibit, heart and pulse monitors and other incredible journeys through the human body. The visit concluded with an intimate tour of the AutoNation® IMAX 3D projection booth during a live showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I.
“My wife Madelaine and I opened our Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward 16 years ago, and have partnered with the Foundation on many projects over the years," offered Steve Halmos. "Seeing Clyde Butcher's amazing landscapes and testing our strength in the Powerful You! exhibit reminded us how valuable our partnership is. Plus, it was great fun. ”
