Community Foundation Goes 'Platinum'

Community Foundation of Broward recently earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency on Candid’s GuideStar.

We are proud to share that the Community Foundation of Broward recently earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency on Candid’s GuideStar.

Candid is a nonprofit that provides social sector data, tools and other resources for nonprofits nationwide. Donors and other funders can use Candid’s GuideStar to verify and research nonprofits that are aligned with their priorities.

By earning Candid’s top level of recognition, we are continuing to set an example of transparency and accountability we hope all of Broward’s nonprofits will follow.

“Earning the Platinum Seal of Transparency on Candid’s GuideStar shows how the Community Foundation goes above and beyond to reinforce its commitment to excellence,” said Cathy Brown, Director of the Community Foundation’s Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence, which provides training and other resources for local nonprofits. “This new distinction provides reassurance to our Fundholders and sets a standard we hope our nonprofit partners will strive to achieve.”

Our Platinum ranking from Candid is the latest example of how the Community Foundation prioritizes setting high standards and incorporating best practices to show we are an impactful, trustworthy champion for local philanthropy.

More than two decades ago, we became the first community foundation in Florida to earn accreditation by the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. By going through the rigorous steps to maintain our accreditation, we continue to reinforce our commitment to accountability and excellence as a national leader in philanthropy.
